ALAMEDA — An unconscious man was rescued by firefighters early Monday after a vehicle he was driving crashed into Seaplane Lagoon, authorities said.The man was not breathing when firefighters got to him, authorities said. He was taken to a hospital but his condition was not immediately available.The vehicle the man was in crashed into the lagoon in the 1000 block of West Tower Avenue, not far from the USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum, about 3:20 a.m. Monday. (KRON) -- A dead body was found Monday morning near a parking garage in downtown Oakland, according to police. At around 8 a.m., officers arrived to the 1100 block of Clay Street and located an individual suffering from severe injuries. Elderly Hayward man beaten, robbed outside his home The individual was pronounced dead once medical personnel and the Oakland Fire Department arrived at the scene. Automat opened in 2021 on McAllister Street at Baker Street, midway between Alamo Square and USF.The restaurant "opened with the intention of being a neighborhood and destination cafe and restaurant, offering craveable takes on our childhood classics for both daytime and dinner," it said on Facebook. (KRON) -- A Mountain View man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday, the Mountain View Police Department announced Monday. Mountain View PD dispatchers received calls of gunshots heard on the 2000 block of Reinert Road just after 9 a.m. Sunday.Responding officers found a man lying in the driveway of an apartment complex. The man had at least one gunshot wound and was declared dead at the scene. Police identified him as a 29-year-old Mountain View resident but declined to release his name at this time.
