Anecdotally, most users maintain marijuana isn’t addictive. The medical community concedes addition is relatively rare (affecting 1 in 10 users) but it does happen. Either way, some people opt to take a break — or quit — using cannabis for a variety of reasons. Others need to pass a drug test, while a few of them need to reset their tolerance to weed. Music fans now have another great reason to visit Napa Valley. It’s called the Blue Note Napa Summer Sessions and it’s set to bring more than two-dozen headliner acts to the lovely Meritage Resort in Napa over the next four months or so.Legendary vocalist Emmylou Harris helped kick of the opening weekend of the series on Sunday (May 21), performing a winning 90-minute set of country/folk/Americana tunes in front of approximately 1,000 fans. The weekend’s other two concerts were Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade (on Friday, May 19) and Dwight Yoakam (on Saturday, May 20).It must have been a relief of sorts for the promoters — who also run the Blue Note Napa club in downtown as well as co-produce the Oxbow Riverstage shows — to see the acts acturally take the stage, given that this series appeared to be in dire straits as little as three weeks ago.Related ArticlesMusic | Bay Area Rock Hall of Fame act will continue tour without ai...Niall Horan announces 2024 tour with stops at Shoreline, Kia Forum

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be able to count on an investigation by the New York City Police Department to back up their claims that they endured a “near-catastrophic,” two-hour car chase at the hands of “highly aggressive” paparazzi who caused “multiple near collisions” with other drivers, pedestrians and two police officers. The NYPD has concluded that the incident warrants “no further investigation,” the New York Times has reported. This statement indicates that police don’t believe anyone — including the paparazzi or members of the royal couple’s security team — broke any laws.As the New York Times said in a report on Friday, early reports about the May 16 incident repeated claims from the couple’s publicist and other allies that the chase was “relentless,” “near fatal” and supposedly involved the couple’s SUV being followed by other SUVS with black-out windows and...Bay Area Rock Hall of Fame act will continue tour without ailing lead singer

By Ella Nilsen | CNNThree Southwest states announced Monday they have struck a historic deal to cut millions of gallons of Colorado River water usage over the next four years, about half of which would be completed by next year, in an effort to stave off a crisis at the nation’s largest reservoirs. The deal between California, Arizona and Nevada agrees to cut at least 3 million acre-feet of water through 2026 – around 10% of the states’ Colorado River allocation – water that would otherwise be used to irrigate farms, generate hydropower or feed municipal drinking water systems. The water cuts would be split up among farmers, tribes and cities who are working with the federal government on short-term payments in exchange for water savings. Most of the cuts would be compensated with at least $1 billion in federal funds from the Inflation Reduction Act. About 1.5 million acre-feet of that water is set to be cut by the end of 2024.The plan still must be finalized after a federal environme...Latest news
