'It's a good feeling' : Jordan Walker changes approach for big hit in comeback win ST. LOUIS - Rookie outfielder Jordan Walker delivered one of the biggest hits of his young professional career on Monday, a two-out, three-run triple that sparked a St. Louis Cardinals comeback victory."It's a good feeling to go up like that late in the game," said Walker with a big grin in postgame media comments Monday after a 7-5 win over the Oakland Athletics. "Super excited." Walker, a MLB-consensus Top 10 prospect entering the 2023 season, has earned the bulk of starts in right field since his callup in June, following an abrupt April demotion. Once riding the high of a 17-game hitting streak, Walker has cooled off a bit in August with just a .200 batting average over 11 games. Cardinals place Matz on 15-day IL, will give Wainwright another start In need of an adjustment, Walker changed his approach from recent games and was rewarded with big results. The back-and-forth Cardinals affair began, however, began with some small ball. Walker worked a five-pitch at-bat in the sec...

California water policies 'rooted in white supremacy,' Native tribes argue President Joe Biden's administration has agreed to investigate how California manages its water after some Native American tribes and environmental groups complained the state's policies are “rooted in white supremacy.”The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced last week it would investigate the California State Water Resources Control Board. The board, whose members are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the state Senate, sets rules for how to use much of the state's water, including 211,000 miles (339,572 kilometers) of rivers and streams.Federal law requires the board to review those rules every three years. But the board hasn't kept up with that timeline for the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento San Joaquin Delta Estuary. The estuary is one of the largest in the country and is home to threatened species of fish. It also irrigates California's powerful agriculture industry while providing drinking water to 25 million people. The Los Angeles Aqueduct carries water from ...
